I tried GEOS on a IIe hard drive but it had a copy protection scheme which
required the origional floppy to be in a drive before it would statup. Once it
verified that you had the disk you could remove it. That was annoying enough
that I erased it after a few hours. I tried several copies of GEOS but they
all
had the same copy protection. Probably one of the reasons it wasn't overly
popuplar. If you have a HD, you don't want to be shuffling and searching for
floppies. The origional disk was copy protected and you had to use the
installer
to put a copy on another disk or HD.
