IIs are easier. //e always has 64K on the motherboard.
][ (and+) can only have up to 48K on the motherboard (there are three
banks/rows of chips on the motherboard, if all are filled, then it has either
16K or 48K, depending on whether it has 4K chips or 16K chips.) Language cards
are in slot 0 with a cable to one RAM chip socket, and add the extra 16K to
take you to 64. Some other cards can sit there and give you even more RAM.

My Franklins 1000 and 1200 series all have 4 banks of 16K RAM for 64K The 500
has the possibility of two banks (I really need to get that extra bank of
sockets soldered in...) but 256K chips.

//c and Laser have 128K on motherboard, with various ways of upgrading the
memory.
