I've actually got to disagree. The specs I saw on both said they were both 150k. There were plans in one magazine which used resistors to allow a greater range out of a 100k joystick sold at Radio Shack. Could this be the one you are thinking of? I tried it and it worked to some extent. I was always wearing out the buttons. ;-)
