In the early 1990s, InCider/A+ did a feature article complete with cover
art titled "Red Hot Apples" which talked about a Russian/Bulgarian
Apple IIe (Enhanced/128K) clone that was the standard computer
throughout schools of the Communist Bloc.  Pretty good article so
they do exist.  The article also mentioned a hacked version of
AppleWorks 3.0 that supported they Cyrillic keyboard/character set.
