Thanks.  I was wondering where a pic of the "real mccoy" would be found.

I suppose so.  And this picture does indeed show that the proportions of the
"mock-up" case are way off.  Comparing the pictures side-by-side,it would
appear that the mock-up is about twice as wide as the real thing.  Also, the
video jacks and such are just holes in the backboard of the mock-up.

I could build a better copy out in my shop for $5.

Well, yes and no.  Boards were sold.  Full Koa-Wood cased versions (much nicer
than the real prototype or the mock-up) were also sold.  I can't think of 
where to find any pictures or documentation to back up this statement at the 
time, as I really should be working instead. ;)
