apparently I have the same problem/limitation with my AI built-in drive/IDE
interface card - love the compact design - but I'm screwed if someday
something happens to the drive.
the only way I've been able to add a cdrom (short of putting a scsi card
inside) to my IIgs was to go out and buy a cheap quadra 700 and use that as
a large file server/cd-rom box.
