Re: help name a game pls
thanks Keith,
I DO remember starflight (didn't know they had it out for the A2 -
well yet another thing to hunt down) but that's not it...
I FINALLY got it...
it's:
Empire I: World Builders (1981, AP2, EduWare)
Empire II: Interstellar Sharks (1982, AP2, EduWare)
Empire III: Armageddon (1984, AP2, EduWare)
I did **NOT** know there were three of these around (the A2 rental
place in our town only carried the first two - remember the good old
days you could just rent your favorite game and play it instead of
plucking down $40+ for all the duds!). Thanks alot for the folks who
tried to help and specially to the **excellent** page at:
http://www.dadgum.com/giantlist/list.html maintained by James Hague.
Took a bit of perl and whatnot to filter out the list for A2 stuff and
sort it but then like something just snapped in my brain and I saw the
games in the list.
this is soooo cool - you guys have no idea (or maybe you do) how mad
this was driving me...now I have to go and search for them - didn't
find them on my first pass through asimov...
ofcourse I would never have found James' great page without the links
page in the A2 Faq - this is why we'll be enjoying our Apples for a
looonnng time to come.
btw. does anyone out there remember these games? can you tell me
anything about the third one?
thanks again,
thomas
