I don't know if this is the one or not, but possibly. Could this be Rescue
at Rigel? Though Crush, Crumble and Chomp (1981) was put out under the Epyx
label, the copyright was with Automated Simulations Inc., who also held the
copyright on Rescue at Rigel (1980). The idea of the game was that you had
to rescue 10 prisoners held in an alien moonbase, and it did involve the use
of blasters, powerguns, etc. Don't know whether it had hover cars or not
though, as I never really played it. Hope this helps.
