I'd try booting into Prodos8 and then launching Appleworks.  I've heard that
some init files for GS/OS can have problems with Appleworks.  There is some
patch included in Randy's Free Patcher that may help with conflicting inits &
AW5.1.  I think the conflict only occurs if Ultramacros and/or Inits are
activated in AW.  Check the manual, and the docs for RFP.  Also, make sure you
are not using the Easy Access init on the ROM 01.  That
*will* make AW5 crash (not to mention many other programs).  Remove it from
your boot partition (it has evil Mojo).
