Okay, it's all coming together now. ;-)
I have the ROM3 IIgs set up with 5MB of RAM and a 340MB Hard drive. No
accelerator (yet?), but it's working pretty well.
My question: Is there *ANY* way to use disk image files without having to
write them to a disk first?
I'd love to boot up some older applications, games and the like, but I
don't want to have to write them out to disk.
I have looked (briefly) into FocusDOS, which allows you to make a large
file that contains many disk images, but since you can't get to those
images from outside of FocusDOS, I don't know how to move files into
them. I can't see the hard drive's other partitions when inside FocusDOS.
I also briefly saw some mention of OzDOS, but I don't know if that's a
workable solution either.
Surely, someone has been through all of this already.
(Imagine that, I want to actually play the games on the real hardware, not
an emulator. :-)
On the brighter side of things, I have WordPerfect and AppleWorks up and
running, and am eventually going to hook it into the MacOSX box with PPP
to get it "on the net". Pretty cool stuff, I think.
