Schematics are available for even the newer machines...the IIe technical
reference and IIGS hardware reference manuals include schematics for those
machines.  Building your own machine from them isn't practical, though,
because of the ASICs and other custom logic used (this is especially true of
the IIGS, though even with the IIe you'd need to somehow duplicate at least
the MMU and IOU).
