a white iigs???

hi - visiting a friend's town, I recently came across a IIgs (pre rom
03 - either 00 or 01 judging by the battery on the motherboard) that
was pure white - not platinum - I'm not talking a 'clean' IIgs - this
was the same color as the white IIc.

Question: did apple make white IIgs' - I've only seen the regular
platinum color ones - if they did - was this a limited production run
or was it simply aimed for a different market (country/etc.). btw - it
was not a Woz edition - or else it'd be sitting on my desk right now
