At least, when the TRS-80 was announced, they had a production line of 3000 
machines running.

When the Apple II was introduced at the Computer Fair in SF in May of that 
same year, how many existed ? You know ?

Just 4 ! The cases were fresh out of the injection mould 2 days before.

Because their production wasn't stepped up as fast as Tandy's. 55.000 sold 
in 
one year. Apple didn't match that, Commodore certainly didn't, with their 
keyboard without a '.'
