Neither, as the IIe and DuoDisk hadn't been introduced yet.
Someone purchasing an (Apple brand) Apple II in 1982 would
most likely have ordered an Apple II Plus, Disk II 5.25 drive
(metal casing; black front) and a Monitor III with stand.

The Apple IIe wasn't introduced until January 1983, followed
by the DuoDisk 5.25 much later on--May 1984 to be exact.

At that point in time the most typical display was monochrome
(green or amber). It was affordable and could display 40 and 80
columns text sharply. If you did want color, most users bought
an RF-modular and used their TV sets. If you were lucky enough,
you may have had a VCR or TV with RCA inputs for the II to plug
directly into.

My first color display was a Zenith ZVM-131 composite/TTL
RGB monitor which I picked up in 1985. Even then I can tell
you I was the envy of all my friends in who still all had mono-
chrome monitors on their Apple II's. I actually had two monitors
on my desk back then, a monochrome for using text and the
color display for graphics and games. I remember thinking it
how neat it was, when I bought my IIgs, that my AppleColor
RGB could display both color graphics and sharp text on the
*same* screen. What a concept! heh.
