These answers are for my setup, an AHS card and a Sony 926S CD-R (which
moves between my GS, PC & Mac)...
Yes you can read the ISO9660 CD's in the GS, but you must have the HS.FST
(High Sierra) loaded.

Not all SCSI drives work with the AHS. I tried a Sony CD55E(?) which didn't
work, but did on my PC.

Forget about burning, besides the lack of any CR-R software, I doubt the GS
could supply enough data even if accelerated. I couldn't even do it on my
16MHz Mac Classic II, it fails the test at 1x burn speed. My 25MHz Quadra605
OTOH can keep up at 2x burn.
If I could get my hands on one I go for the CD150 (or Plus) on the AHS as it
meets all your requirements except writing CD-Rs.
