In 1980 I only had an Apple II+ with 48K RAM and a single Disk ][ 5.25"
drive, with a SUP-R-MOD RF Modulator. The home TV was the monitor. Either a
small B/W Princess or a Small Colour TV. The best monitors then were small
B/W metal units that were only about 9" and sat along side the disk ][ drive
on top of your II+. The II+ also came with two black paddles for games. I
added a second Disk ][ a year later.

It was not until 1984 before I bought a 128K/80col Apple IIe (non-enhanced)
with Apple Monitor II (w/inbuilt tilting screen) and a DuoDisk drive. I made
my own joystick from standard 100K pots from the electronic stores, because
joysticks were no that common. Colour monitors were too expensive then, and
the one I remember wanting was a Taxan monitor because they could display
different foreground/background colours on the text screen.
