Radio Shack has heavy-duty metal-oxide varistor surge protectors.

I bought a Kensington System Saver IIGS and the inside was black from all
3 of the MOVs blown. It would have been interesting to be there when they
went bad. An appliance that can go bad without notice is a poor idea.
