If you use AppleWorks 4 or 5, a DeskJet 500 driver is built in to the program.
All you do is pick it from the list. If you use AppleWorks 3.0, a similar
driver setup is available from TEXAS II on Disk.

For programs like Prosel, AppleWriter, and other programs which simply use the
ASCII character set of the DJ and it should be ready to go. See the printer
manal for dip switch settings to make ASCII the standard (default) character
set in your DJ.

A special driver may be needed for some GS-specific progams, but NO driver is
needed for the programs mentioned above.

The cable is the same as the IIGS/Mac to ImageWriter I (one) cable, which was
an RS 232, I believe.

This is a wonderful printer for the Apple II. Contratulations on your find!
