Re: IIc System Clock...
I got one of these in the 80's so the BBS I ran could be time-savvy.
Overall I found it to be a horribly irritating device.. But it worked.
I still have it, and it still works, and I have the box and manuals and
everything it came with.
It requires I believe THREE AA batteries. It eats them up like crazy and
you have to unscrew the case to replace them. Very annoying. You have
to plug it into either the modem or printer port, and I found annoyances
with either option.
AND ProDOS will not recognize the clock on its own. You need to put a
special driver on every single disk you wish to boot to make it work.
I have the original software disk with the manuals and etc.
I'm surprised if it is not already sitting at one of the archives. If
not, I'm sure as an owner of the hardware you are entitled to the
necessary software.
Do I sound a tad bitter? Well, maybe. That clock was a lot of trouble.
But it is a unique computer device.. And maybe the only way to have a
clock with a //c besides some kind of internal hardware mod. (Certain
Z-80 chips had clocks in them)
So there you go,
