I don't know anything about commodores or WDC but a particular rating on
a chip doesn't always mean it can't go lots faster. My 15mhz ZipGS is using 
an 8mhz 65816. I did pick up a 14mhz 65816 to see if that would make it more 
stable at 16mhz but had no luck. I later took it out to try in another 
accellerator that was flaky and never bothered putting it back. 

What would be interesting would be a way to connect an accellerator directly 
up to memory and say a Ramfast thus avoiding the slow buss speed for a lot of 
stuff. I recall an interview with the producers of the Ramfast where they 
stated that the Ramfast could move data at 2.5 timed the speed the IIgs buss 
would accept it.
