Re: Apple IIgs System Disks

You need a Macintosh computer to create disk using the
disk images from Apple. A better source of the disk is
from

http://www.a2central.com

Go to the download section and follow the link to the
system disk section. You can order the disk from them
for $2 a disk. You could just order the system disk from
them and download the rest of the files by using
a serial cable between your PC and Apple IIgs. There
are several ways to do this. However, you will need
to be able to boot the system first. Once you can
do that you can transfer data via the serial cable and
terminal software. You will also need to get a copy
of Asimov 2.0, Shrinkit GS, and a terminal program.
These are the essential utilities to get data to your
computer. Using these tools you can create disk
by using the disk images stored in SHK files or
DSK files which are the standard formats for Apple II
emulators. Once you have a boot disk, repost to this
site and I am sure someone will steer you in the right
direction to get the rest of the disk.

If you have a serial cable and a friend with an Apple
II you could have him make you a boot disk. That is
what I did and I downloaded the rest using a serial
cable.
