     Running it for a while may have helped to form-up some capacitors.

     Or, the video cable may have been making poor contact.

     Another possibility is that a socketed IC which was making poor contact
was heated up and 'racheted' itself into a better connection. (You can
sometimes achieve a similar effect by giving the computer a solid thump.)
