     There are not many that need more than 1.5MB to start and function at some
minimal level. The catch is when one of these programs is told to load in one
or more documents. These may be super-res pics, much larger PC pics (you want
to convert to super-res), animation files, song files, instrument/sound files,
word processor documents, databases, ... .

     Having large documents in memory is often just the start. When you want to
process the document (e.g. do a Fill under Platinum Paint, or cut/paste several
measures in Music Studio), lots more memory gets used.

     Another factor is the Tools and drivers which may need to be loaded in
order to support a program. This increases the space used by System 6.

     Besides, using a IIgs is much easier if an 800k RAM disk is available. You
especially notice this when doing file transfers and disk image conversions.

     Anyway, 3MB is a lot better than 2MB. And, if you are going to stick in
something besides the 1MB Exp Mem card, it's going to be something like the
Serius card from Alltech with at least 4MB.
