An accelerator makes a HUGE difference when using Appleworks
with a large spreadsheet or database. Recalculating (SANE) in the
spreadsheet is quite tedious without acceleration, as is sorting in
the database.
With acceleration, the use of macros that involving multiple sorts,
etc., become quite practical. Without acceleration, one is tempted
to get a cup of coffee... ;-(
Assemblers and some compilers also benefit considerably from
acceleration. But perhaps the most exhilarating thing is watching
your Applesoft program run at 3x-6x speed. Accelerators make
Applesoft quite practical for more complex calculations than one
would have patience for otherwise. Or, if animation is your bag,
accelerated Applesoft and shape tables can take you further than
you would imagine.
All in all, a good investment!
