I received a call from Tim after seeing this post and fixed the problem.
It looked like the serial port or the printer started to miss bytes in
the data stream coming down from appleworks. I looked at the IW II
dipswitches, they were set ok. Then started on appleworks 5's settings,
the printer stuff was ok. Rememberred his 8Mhz Zip, changed the port
setting for port 1 to Normal, disabled CPS-Follow, Appletalk delay, and
another delay I forget...in short, it works now. He's very impressed as
to how fast AW5 loads from the HD (TMS Shadow & RamFast)...about 4
seconds flat.
Sorry for waiting this long to post this, though I wanted to share this
to add to your repetoir.
