I *think* you mean the serial port rather than the parallell port
here! Even though it's quite possible, woith the appropriate wiring
and software, to transfer data between two computers using their
parallell ports (Laplink and Interlink did this between PC's),
I'm aware of no terminal program which communicates through the
parallell port.
When transferring data over the parallell port, there are two
different methods:
1. Use four of the status lines for data input: data can now
be transferred one nibble (4 bits) at a time. This works on all
Centronics compatible parallell ports, including the parallell
port on the Apple II.
2. Use bi-directional parallell ports: data can now be transferred
one full byte (8 bits) at a time. However this will only work on
newer parallell ports; in particular it will NOT work on the
parallell port of the Apple II.

Otherwise the most common way to transfer Apple II disks to PC's is
to use Paul Guertin's ADT (Apple DIsk Transfer) software: it has a
small "server" running on the Apple II (there's a version both for t
he Super Serial Card and the older Apple Communications Card) and a
client running on the PC (there are versions for plain MS-DOS, for
Win-32, and I think there's even been a port to the Mac). And, yes,
this is done over the serial port, not the parallell port.
