Do you mean the black metal Disk ][ drives? As far as I know there
shouldn't be any problem using them (but then I don't know much). You'll
have to go into the control panel (press open apple-control-escape) and
set the slot (usually slot 6 for 5.25" drives) to "your card."

But the best part of a IIgs is that it has built-in ports for disk
drives, modem, printer, RGB monitor, and joystick/paddle, so you don't
have to worry about cards for these. You can daisy-chain up to four
drives (2 x 3.5" followed by 2 x 5.25") to the disk port.
