Yes, I did the exact same thing with my first computer = an Apple IIc.  But, I
was on LSD at the time (1985 - if I recall right -- it was the CIA's MKUltra
experiment).

Worked great for me then.  Now that I only smoke medical Marijuana - (legally
of course) - I doubt that       
I could pull such a thing off properly again.

Still, such an Apple IIc project might be fun to try. If you could get Tony
Diaz to give it a go at this years KansasFest, I'm sure he could do it.  :)' 
I'd be glad to supply him with the 9V batteries by USPS Priority parcel for
free too - I've got a giant case of them.
