I did read that part, and I don't see how it makes the post relevant for
this group.

Sure I do, but that doesn't make it ok to ask about other computers in this
group, unless my query has a connection to an Apple II.

He did not apologise for posting in this group, he apologised for
crossposting (which he didn't actually do).

He did not acknowledge that it was off-topic; in fact he said it was
relevant!

There was no indication that he was looking specifically for people who had
both an Apple II and an 8500.

He did not piss me off, I was never angry at him, I just gave him some
friendly advice.
