If you want to transfer disk images directly onto a disk in the Apple II,
then using ADT (Apple Disk Transfer) would be the way to go. It includes the
software which runs on the Apple II side, which is transferred through the
null-modem as well.

If you want to transfer individual files, or archives you've downloaded like
BXY or SHK or SDK files, then you will need a communications program. ZLink
and Agate are two that I've tried. You can download disk images of them and
transfer using ADT -- at least, that's what I did.
