The 80/40 button sets the default text mode: 80 column or 40 column.  It
has limited support, as it is often overridden, with the application
forcing its own preference.

The Keyboard button selects the keyboard layout and text character set.
One setting is US QWERTY.  The other is Dvorak in the case of the US
model, or the localised language in the case of international models.
