Update: I tested my Liron card last night, in both my IIgs and my
IIe. I think it is dead. I can read the ROM via the Monitor, but any
3.5" drives (unidisk or regular) that I attach don't boot or even eject
the disk. But when the box is powered on, the power led on the drive
blinks for a split second. When I attach the drives to my IIgs, I can
use the regular platinum 3.5" drives. It appears that my 3.5" unidisk
(one of two, and I haven't tested the second one yet) are dead. I even
tried to use it from my IIc. No dice.

I need to check rubywand's FAQ to see what the proper usage of a
unidisk and a Liron card are.
