I just wanted to once again make people aware of my in-development
Apple IIe emulator for Linux.
It is currently available to members of my Yahoo email group at
the following URL:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SLApple
The emulator is currently at version 0.52, and comes as source code
only. I offer support through the group for compiling and use of the
program. There is also an interim snapshot available that adds some
new features, but doesn't emulate graphics modes.
The features of version 0.52 are as follows:
* GPL Open Source
+ 100% ANSI/ISO C
+ Uses Gtk+ (for graphics) and SDL (for sound)
+ Supports all Apple IIe video modes
(40-80 col text, GR, DGR, HGR, DHGR, mixed-modes)
+ emulates disk II & controller DOS and ProDOS order images (no .nib yet)
+ emulates smart port controller with up to two hard drive images
+ emulates mouse, extended 80 column card, AE timemaster 2HO clock card
+ speed control
extra features in interim snapshot (no graphics modes)
+ AE RamWorks III 1Mb memory card emulation
+ raster video emulation (text modes only) that offers 100%
accurate emulation of things like VBL tricks. I have written
a demo program that displays a rolling stripe of 80 column text
in the middle of a 40 column screen, for example.
planned improvements
+ joystick support
+ better disk II emulation, including .nib images, half, quarter, spiral
tracking.
+ hard disk image creation (currently you have to download images)
+ 'slinky' ram card emulation
+ super serial card emulation
+ mockingboard/phasor emulation
+ printing to linux/network printers
+ expansion card swapping
+ expansion card plugins (write your own expansion card emulator)
+ non-X video
+ integrated 65c02 debugger
+ whatever else I think of (now accepting ideas)
