When I get a disk that doesn't read quite right, I ususally use
Locksmith Fast Copy to duplicate it, then send the duplicate.  Sometimes
this takes several tries before LSM copies it without errors.  I suspect
that after years of neglect, many of my disks are suffering from bit-
migration or perhaps just a faded magnetic signature that makes them
read inconsistently.
