As others have said those chips look fine. As Michael Jackson once said...
"one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch girl". :)
aside from the jumpering which may need setting correctly, sometimes a
single bad chip will cause the whole bank to fail. If you have any socketed
banks you can try swapping out one at a time to verify servicability of each
chip. But if the only working bank you have has all soldered this isn't much
help.

Oh, the EHP/EGPxyzt on the chips would be just a batch number, nothing to do
with the type number TMS 4256-12/15. the 4256 would mean 4 bit x 256K bit,
so 2 chips would make 256K RAM, or 8 for 1MB. And the -15 is 150ns
whereas -12 is 120ns. Anything below 200ns should be fine. the N in NL means
a plastic package as opposed to ceramic etc.
