I've used the AE HD drive with both with maybe one difficulty. It was
fine with a SuperDrive card but with a UDC card if I tried to format a
HD disk 800k I'd get an I/O error however I get the same error using an
Apple HD drive with a UDC card. In both cases taping over the disks
second hole would "fix " that. More of a test really since I normally
avoid using HD disks as 800k. Only things I disliked about the drive
were the manual inject and the sounds it made. I'm just too used to the
sound Apple drives make I guess. However I did think the bi-colered
LED was really neat.

I've used the Laser drive but not extensively enough to have any
opinion as to it's durability. The only AMR drive I've run into was
occasionally giving the owner problems with some software. I never
had a chance to look into that other than to clean the drive heads
because
I had to get his hard drive working quickly since he was making his
living
with his IIgs.
