You have a nice collection of equipment. In fact, one 'problem' in
suggesting ideas is that you seem to have so many options.
Since you have a IIe Card connected to a 5.25" drive in your LC and ProDOS
partitions on the LC hard drive, it seems like you should be able to do
everything on the LC. (I do not have an LC; so, I can't say for sure. My info
comes from Phil Beesley's LC Card FAQs at
http://www.mandrake.demon.co.uk/Apple/lc_card_faq.html .)
For instance, to convert .dsk, .do, and .po 5.25" images to diskette, you
could use DSK2FILE v5.7f running on the IIe Card under ProDOS. (ProDOS could be
booted from 5.25" diskette or, maybe, the hard disk partition, or, possibly
from an 800k 3.5" diskette).
DSK2FILE could be run from a hard disk partition accessed by the IIe Card.
The .dsk file you want to convert could be on the same partition; and, the
target diskette (INITed under DOS 3.3) could be in the 5.25" drive attached to
the IIe Card.
One unknown (for me) is how you get stuff from your net computer to your
LC. If you have a telecom program on your LC, you could NULL modem stuff from
the PC (using Hyperterm) to the LC (using whatever telecom terminal program is
on the LC).
Not being able to get ShrinkIt going would, for sure, be a snag. A good
way to get ShrinkIt is as Shrink.exe from Ground at
ftp://ground.ecn.uiowa.edu/2/apple2/useful.stuff/ . Shrink.exe is a
self-extracting archive. Directions are on Ground at
ftp://ground.ecn.uiowa.edu/2/apple2/useful.stuff/SHRINK.EXE.INFO.txt . Also,
you can check http://home.swbell.net/rubywand/Csa2FLUTILS.html#003 .
Once you have ShrinkIt running on your IIe Card (under ProDOS), you can
unShrink DSK2FILE v5.7f (which you can get from ground at
ftp://ground.ecn.uiowa.edu/apple2/Emulators/ ).
So, you should be able to create diskettes from .dsk disk images (mostly
5.25" disk) and .sdk ShrinkIt whole-disk archives (5.25" and 3.5" disk)files.
And, ShrinkIt will let you unshrhink .shk file archives to diskette or hard
disk.
An alternative to the above is to use ADT v122 to handle .dsk disk image
transfers from the PC to diskettes on your IIe equipped with the SSC.
ADT122.zip is on Ground at ftp://ground.ecn.uiowa.edu/apple2/Emulators/ .
Directions are included in the .zip file. If your PC is running Windows, the
best ADT122 to get is Sean Gugler's new ADTw122. For info and links, go to GSWV
at http://206.14.25.120/~cturley/a2zine/index.html and click "Contents"; then,
click "Finally! ADT for Windows". ADTw122.zip includes directions.
One of the .dsk images you can get is named "PDSHRINKITS". It has
ShrinkIt. (See http://home.swbell.net/rubywand/Csa2FLUTILS.html#007 for links.)
I do not know anything about the Apple II telecom program you mention
(Apple Access II). It may work fine for transferring Shrink.exe (downloaded
from Ground) from PC to your IIe. If so, that is still another way to get
ShrinkIt. Anyway, being able to transfer .dsk disk images (via ADT) means you
can get a decent telecom program for your IIe. (See
http://home.swbell.net/rubywand/Csa2T1TCOM.html#012 .)
