Return of the Apple IIE!
Hi all,
I've just bought a brand new, Apple IIe card for my mac LC 520. I
haven't used an orignal Apple since had to sell my //C about 7 years
ago. I loved that machine and miss it every day. Now, I see all these
.dsk, .nib, .2mg files on the internet and with all the licenses being
unsupported, I think that this is all very legal.
I would like to be able to download many of these images to my Powerbook
G3, cut them to a CD, read that CD on my LC 520 and transfer the files
to disk.
I don't have a 5.25 or 3.5 disk drive yet, but they are on the way.
I did a little research and have found that DSKFILE is the way to go for
transferring these images onto floppy. I have that properly installed
on a prodos hd partition, and things are all ready to go for DSK files.
I'm still very unsure that I'm doing this right, and have some problems
getting file types right (I use typechanger and unforkit for the most
part). Some files that I download still are not seen properly. I still
have no program for IIE that will let me write NIB disk images, and many
games I'd like are written in that.
Does anybody know any good websites for using the IIE card on the LC?
I've seen the FAQ but it leaves many of my image conversion and usage
questions unanswered. Maybe there is a site that will better explain
conversion. I would only be interested in converted images to disks on
the IIE side of things, since that is the only place I'll have a 5.25
drive. ANY help will be very greatly accepted!
