<<Spectrum, being a GS/OS based program, has no problems dealing with
HFS partitions. Also, GNO/ME can also deal with HFS partitions and it
has built in rz/sz commands and there is at least one communications
program that runs in GNO/ME that will do at least XModem transfers.
However, burning a CD is almost certainly going to be a faster method
of moving large amounts of data to your IIgs.>>
For transfering as much as 640 MB's of data or files for use under GS/OS - I
fully agree with the CD statement Jeff. It's the fastest, easiest and ONLY
method of IIgs file transfer method I ever use with that amount and size of
data and/or files. Spectrum and GNO/ME have never been a use option for me. I
personally find both of the Spectrum and GNO/ME options to be to complex for my
use and needs -vs- simply burning a CD in HFS Mac Vol. format. The older Mac
models can handle a CD ROM RW drive just fine also at a very reasonable cost
per CD burned - today I burned five such CD's for atotal cost of $2.50 US.
It's interesting to note also for other users that it seems an Apple II Linux
emulator has been made available for public access from this URL, if anybody
cares to go that route.

Perhaps trying Apple II and/or IIgs emulation under Linux might be a valid
option for solving Marvin's need for even transfering A2 data - archives and
files - i.e. - KEGS and the above noted zip archive (Apple2.emu.linux.zip).
