Being offtopic is not a drama. Neither is refusing to get back to the
subject that a newsgroup is devoted to.

It *is* a clear sign of a lack of basic politeness and social skills,
however. The only appropriate course of
action is to be gracious, and offer to take it to an appropriate
newsgroup. If you can't even manage that, well, don't be surprised if we
keep on seeing you as a first-class dimwit.
