And I suggest you learn what the word "amateur" means. It's not a
synonym to "dilettant" or "incompetent person". Instead it really
means "lover" (compare with the french "amour" and the spanish and
italian "amore"). I.e. an amateur is someone doing somthing for the
love of the subject, not for the economic profit.
And, yes, some amateurs are actually more competent than some
professionals.
And in this respect, Christ was indeed a very dedicated amateur,
not just because he did what he did without getting paid, but
more importantly because he did what he did because he loved it
so much that he gave his life fore it. Few amateurs are THAT
dediceted; virtually no professionals are.
And Christ was also a more successful preacher than the
professional priests of that time.... so he must be
considered an example of an amateur being more competent
than the professionals....
