     That sounds likely-- e.g. Coke or some other drink spilled on the
keyboard; or a bit of fine wire, foil, etc. got inside. Something else
to try is resocketing all socketed IC's-- one may have a pin making poor
contact.

     To open the case you may need to remove the rubber feet-- not sure
about this; but, it's pretty common to hide bolts under stick-on feet.
