Another thing you could do is to download
http://hotel04.ausys.se/pausch/apple2/Apple.Assembly.Line.zip
and from that file extract the DOS 3.3 disk image AAL_3.DSK, which contains:
A 002 HELLO
*I 042 CATALOG ARRANGER
*I 010 APPLE-TALKER
*I 010 EVEN FASTER PRIMES.2
*I 006 APPLESOFT LOCATOR
*I 012 APPLESOFT REPEAT/UNTIL
*I 011 INTERNAL JMP/JSR'S
*I 005 MONITOR BIT-CONTROL
*I 005 CLEAR ASOFT STRING ARRAY
*I 008 APPLESOFT SPLIT STRING
*A 002 SPLIT STRING DEMO
*I 043 CATARR
*I 023 FNAME.EDITOR
*I 013 SUPER FAST SCROLLER
*I 025 STRING ADDITION
*I 003 ALARM
*I 006 MACRO-VIDEX ESC-L & MORE
*I 024 TRAPPER
*I 011 ALL ABOUT PTRGET & GETARYPT
*A 002 DEMO PTRGET & GETARYPT
*I 003 MACROS CAN BUILD MACROS
*I 005 MX-80 TEXT SCREEN DUMP
*I 007 MX-80 TEXT SCREEN DUMP +
*I 005 DIVIDE 8-BIT BY 4-BIT

*I 005 DIVIDE 32 BY 16 BIT
*I 006 DIVIDE 32 BY 16 WITH TRACE
*I 007 DOS FAST LOAD/BLOAD

*A 016 MINI-ASSEMBLER IN APPLESOFT
*I 005 NEW MONITOR ASCII DUMP.1
*I 006 NEW MONITOR ASCII DUMP.2
The "DOS FAST LOAD/BLOAD" and "INSTALL DOS FAST LOAD/BLOAD" contains
the S-C Assembler source for the DOS patch plus an Applesoft program
which loads it, patching your 48K DOS 3.3 in-place. You can then use
that patched DOS 3.3 to INIT another disk, and it will have fast
load/bload on the system tracks.
If you want to speed up text file read/write as well, check out
"DOS FAST TEXT R/W (P.S.)" and "FAST TEXT R/W (P.S.+BOB S-C)"
Note that you'll need the S-C Assembler to assemble these source
files. It too is freely available from:
http://hotel04.ausys.se/pausch/apple2
(if that site is down today, try again a little later. They're doing
some LAN work there right now, and it'll soon be back up again)
