The IIgs has two serial ports. The one usually used for modem connections is
the one with the phone symbol (near the right edge as you face the front of the
computer).
You can use a IIgs serial printer cable-- like the IIgs cable for an
Imagewriter I. (This is supposed to give you the swapped around signal lines you
would get by adding a NULL modem adaptor to a regular modem cable.)
A number of Apple II vendors sell 'high-speed hardware-handshaking' modem
cables for the IIgs which end in a standard 25-pin plug. (This plugs into one side
of a NULL modem adaptor and the plug from the PC modem cable plugs into the other
side.) The Mac mini-din-8 modem cable is supposed to be the same as a IIgs
'high-speed hardware-handshaking' modem cable; so, you can check stores selling
Mac stuff.
