I have one of these (bought it in a flea market in 1991). It's a lot of fun to
play with,
although some of the sounds are kind of rough (low sampling rate and 8-bit
width).
But, since "retro" is coming back in....

I should add, you will need an Apple II or an *unenhanced* Apple IIe in order
to
make the Alphasyntauri function. (The newer enhanced IIe's throw in a bunch of
interrupts that interfere with the functioning of the Mountain Music cards. And
I did
say "cards", so leave the IIc/IIgs at home.  :-)

The Alphasyntauri is pre-Midi, although someone out there probably has hacked
in Midi
support for this synth. (Do let me know).
