I know that the 300e and later models won't work with the CD Remote desk
accessory (or other programs which support Apple's CD-ROM audio command
set), but I wasn't aware of problems using these as a data-only CD-ROM
drive.
I've never had anything newer than a CD-SC connected to the IIgs.
Incidentally, which SCSI card do you have? The RamFast might work
better with a CD-ROM drive than either Apple card, and I'd expect more
chance of problems with other third-party cards.
