IIGS Modem troubleshooting --> Marinetti TCP/IP

Hi!

I 've installed the Marinetti 2.0 on my IIgs along with the 'SAM automated
mailer and Spectrum 2.4'  from Shareware Solutions II.  The IIGS is
connected the machine to a USR Robotics V.Everything.

I'm trying to get the TCP/IP stack up and running, but it fails to respond
to the modem.

I've entered the DNS IP's for my ISP-provider, with user
information/password and phone number, and I'm using the default 'ATZ' modem
reset string in the Marinetti PPP configuration.

But, it seems that the modem will not respond  when issuing 'connect',
except from flashing up indicating receival of the init-string.  A hardware
time-out error message then follows!

Is the USR Courier modem not compatible with the IIGS setup.  How should I
go along to troubleshoot this phenomena?
