Well...I think Kermit-65 supports a startup macro.  Still slower than
ZMODEM, but you could type IN#2 on the Apple, then have the host machine
fire off a few commands to start the comm program and initiate the receive...

Cheating?  Perhaps.  But at least the keystrokes aren't coming from the
Apple...
