For everyone who responded, thanks. Without money or feedback the only
incentive to release Apple II software is charity.
If you download something for free, especially a limited (i.e. dead)
market like the Apple II, and you can't at least send an email with a
word of thanks you are part of the problem.
I for one have decided to release all my software as freeware, because
I want to share my Apple II stuff with others, but I don't exist in a
vacuum, without feedback I cannot continue to release software on a
timely basis. If the only incentive I have is because I want to
release stuff without ever knowing if anyone cares, I'll probably never
release another Silvern Castle update, or any other Apple II title for
a long time. I mean, what's the point?
This forum is filled with laments about the poor state of the Apple
II, and if users can't at least appreciate the works of other users,
then you are deepening the hole of what remains of the Apple II market.
That's my opinion,
Jeff Fink, Silvern Castle author
