I started by learning Level II BASIC on a TRS-80 Model I.  Once I had
'mastered' that, I was permitted to go to work on the Apple ][ and Apple
][+.  These were all school computers, ca. 1981, so there basically
weren't any ][e's yet, though the ][e was introduced that year.

First computer in the family was a ][e.  I lobbied hardest for it, but
once my Mom found out about word processing, she bought the machine.

Not long after that I became an Applesoft Ace.  8-)

*My* first computer...that is, the first one I actually bought...is the
IIgs I am working on right now.  Had to buy this one, used, long after the
previous owner had gone on to bigger and better? things.

The other Apples in the collection (assorted ][e's, a couple of IIgs's and
a //c) were all discards that I 'inherited'.
